Free Music Download Seminar - Library

The Librarian from the Bell Public Library will be here on Wednesday, May 23rd during lunchtime to make a presentation regarding free music downloads that are available from the LA County Library website. Students, staff and faculty are welcome to attend. (S. SALANOA)

Now is the time! Prom, Cap and Gown, Grad Nite, Graduation. All these are coming soon, you need a current student picture I.D.; Leadership, MTCA, Film etc. do not count. If you do not have one, come to the Student Store, pay $5.00 and take the receipt to the Deans Office and SMILE! (R. JANSSEN)

PROM

All students going to the Prom are responsible to meet all eligibility requirements to be able to go. To be eligible you must have 1. Missed 42 periods or less. 2. Have 5 hours of detention or less, 3. Have no textbook holds, 4. Have no library books or fines due. (R. RODGERS)

COLLEGE/CAREER CENTER

Sue Kamiyama Scholarship

Two $2,000 scholarships will be issued this year. To apply for this scholarship, you must: (1) Be a graduating senior; (2) Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA; (3) Have been a member of a BHS Varsity Athletic team and lettered in that sport; and (4) Be considering a career in teaching. Applications are available from Mr. Gurrola in the College Center, Mr. Santiago in the Athletic Director's Officem and Mrs. Kane in PE. The deadline is Wednesday May 23, 2012, DONT MISS OUT SENIORS! Bell HS General Scholarship

ATTENTION ALL SENIORS! Bell HS will be awarding various scholarships to seniors ranging from $100-$2,000. You must come to the college center to pick up a General scholarship application. Music Camp At San Jose State University

Attention Juniors & Seniors - Do you have a passion for music? If so, then don’t miss out on this great opportunity to attend “Music Camp at San Jose State University.” This exciting one-week Summer Music Camp offers students the opportunity to participate in Concert Band, Orchestra, or Choir as a major performing ensemble and Jazz as a secondary performing ensemble. Some of the elective courses include music technology, composition and guitar. The total cost is $595, which covers tuition, room and board. If planning to participate, you must register by Friday, May 25, 2012. Please come to the College Center to pick-up a registration form. (R. Gurrola)

Attention Juniors! If you are an outstanding student with extraordinary academic and leadership potential, you have an opportunity to be nominated for the Posse Foundation Leadership Scholarship Program. Posse partner colleges and universities award Posse Scholars four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships. Susan Kamiyama Sscholarship Drive

The Susan Kamiyama Scholarship Committee has given two, $2,000 scholarships every June since 2006. It is our sincere desire to continue to give this scholarship for years to come. We would like to increase the number of recipients and/or the amount of the awards. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation, please make out a check to BHS Student Body and write Sue Kamiyama Scholarship Fund on the memo line of your check.
